Has anyone changed out their Fischer connectors for the Narked@90 ones?

Standard Fischers are rated to 80m but these are rated at 300m. Has anyone tried them?

They certainly look good but not sure if they are actually available to buy yet. You might have to wait a little bit longer. Drop an email to John at Narked at 90 if you want more information.

I see that these are now available. Has anyone adopted them if so what do you make of them?

I nearly went for them ahead of the Shetland trip as the marks we were intending to dive were in the 85-95m range. As it happens we didn't get on anything deep and following on from my attempt to breathe water that wasn't a bad thing.

So Narked@90 deep Fischer connectors....?

I've had second thoughts about getting the changes done and here's why:

1) I've never had an issue with the standard Fischer connectors despite taking them beyond their 80m depth rating. Plenty of people have taken below 150m with no issues.

2) My head works fine. My Shearwater works fine. Do I really want it messed with?

3) At the moment I can use anyone's spare 7 pin dive computer. The moment I change the connectors every computer I use has to have the same modification and they just aren't standard.

4) To upgrade just my kit and Jo's kit is 4 X Shearwaters and 2 x heads and all the spares are immediately redundant. @ £80 a pop the costs mount up and the benefits are not clear cut. The potential for painting yourself into a corner is too great.

I'm not saying no, I've just got enough doubt to hold off for now.

HTH
